My real life fairy tale…

Once upon a time there was a Christian singer who made a big change in her life.  She and her family joined a new church, a new church body, and sent their kids to a new school all at the same time.

This singer tried for weeks to book concert events and worship services at the churches in her new ‘family’, but was having some trouble.  Finally, she threw her hands up in the air, and said to God “I just want to sing for you!  Please, I just want to sing for you!”

The next month, God provided an answer when she was asked by her pastors at her new church to be the interim worship coordinator (there had been a recent illness and resignation).  Suddenly she was choosing music, writing service formats, scheduling dozens of musicians, and rehearsing and singing almost every night!   This turned into nearly a full time job in the month of December with the extra worship services in preparation for the celebration of Jesus’ birthday.

Soon after came Lent and looking ahead to Easter, which is truly the busiest time of the church year for worship.  She embraced this season and did her best to keep her head above water, (and keep clean clothes on her children, as well as home-cooked meals on the family table – does frozen pizza count?) - all the while being wonderfully appreciated by many at church, and supported by her husband at home.  She’s not sure how long this interim position will last, but is praising God for His faithfulness and for every opportunity to bring Him glory.

This is why I have not been traveling to sing much the last few months.  If you check my website calendar, you will find almost every Sunday booked with worship leading at Brookfield Lutheran.  But please visit my site wendysue.com for some other highlights:

- A new video on the homepage of me and my daughter Miranda’s duet.

- Free downloads of every song on my 1st CD “No Tears Past the Gate.”

- Individual downloads ($.99) of songs from my other two original CDs.

There are two other new ways to hear (and see) my music:

- Click this Youtube link to see a video of my song ”I Believe” put to a special picture presentation.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tk-4XYHAcXE

-My church made a live audio recording at a worship service of  “Alive in Jesus,” a song I wrote for a recent sermon series.  http://www.brookfieldlutheran.org/Worship.htm – scroll down to “Original Music Samples.”

“Ask and it will be given to you, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened to you.” Matthew 7:7

I hope to see or hear from you soon, Wendysue
